I admit it – I’m a freak – a total hot springs freak. I was first turned onto natural hot springs on my first desert camping trip around Thanksgiving 2003. I have bought books and maps and seek at every opportunity to incorporate stops at hot springs in my itinerary.
When we first started planning our July trip to Tuscany, Carolyn said “Maybe we can go to some of the hot springs this time.” That got my attention – I’ve been researching on the web, but am not finding nearly as much information about natural hot springs in Italy as I can find for California. In fact, I am finding a lot more about spas and places where people wear swimsuits (ick!).
A couple of links have been providing some good information, though. Slow Travel has a whole page on Hot Springs in Tuscany, as well as sites of ancient baths. I’m putting together some links on my del.icio.us account – and will keep adding things here as I come across them.
